About us

World Language Consultant was founded in 1967 when Rio Tinto, the world's foremost mining company, set up an internal Language training Unit with the assistance of Julio Pinna. Over 150 staff were trained by this pioneering unit, which provided one of the first language and cultural training programmes of its kind. The programme was soon extended to other companies, and in the mid-1970's Christies opened its exclusive centre which, under Julio's direction, delivered bespoke training to the executives, managers and experts at the auction house.

Julio Pinna is now the Director of World Language Consultant.

We have worked with a broad range of clients and developed Language
and cultural learning programme which:

Enabled Christie’s specialists to travel the world, finding, buying and selling exiting piece of art.

Helped the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to promote UK interest abroad and worked with international bodies, ensuring the delivery of a specialist programme to senior officials.

Helped United Distillers, now Diageo, to develop its language and cultural capacity to support the business development initiative across borders.

Provided Barclays Bank with functional and practical language learning to help with the development of their interest in South America enabling the team to put immediately their knowledge into practice in the work environment.
